i'm not one to really go all out on holiday decorations, especially for the smaller ones, so i kind of surprised myself the other day when i decided to make a banner for st. patrick's day.
i came across this green floral paper in my scrap box and felt it a shame for it to just sit in the box. i like that it's not your typical st. patrick's day decoration (whatever that is). for this banner, instead of attaching the paper to ribbon i decided to try something new and sew them together. i love the outcome and it was fun experimenting. if you have a sewing machine you should totally try it!
on the thoughts luck, i have to say i feel very lucky to hang out with this monkey every day. she's always on the go (as evidenced by the blurry photo) and keeps me on my toes but i love it.
what are you feeling lucky about? do tell!

designing a room around...
this lamp shade from Anthropologie to create this office...
{sources: desk chair, mirror, table lamp, rug, desk, arm chair, pillow, bookcase, gallery wall photo, paint}
i came across the lamp shade while browsing anthro's website. i liked it so much i thought i'd try my hand at creating a room around it. it's amateur at best but i had fun making this board.
i picture this room with a gallery wall of travel photos and the bookcase full of picture albums and knick-knacks from travels. the lamp shade is really for a table lamp but i thought it'd look cooler as a pendant light shade. i'm sure there is a way to rig it to a pendant light. :)
i'm out early for the weekend but i'll be back Monday and hope to share something i've been working on. chao!

i'd love to host an ice cream party to make these drumsticks.
they look seriously easy and so good.

snow white
Since moving to Texas from Utah last month I never would've thought I'd see snow again until I went back home to visit. I thought wrong! We recieved about 12 inches here in North Texas over the weekend. It was really pretty. It's mostly melted now but in honor of the snow I thought I'd post a couple white interiors from my tumblr. Have a lovely Monday!

hopeless romantic
how perfect is this Mr. Darcy Proposal Dish Towel seen via design mom? so romantic! that line has to be one of my favorites from pride & predjudice.
do you have a favorite Jane Austen book? i'd have to say mine is pride & predjudice.

love chart
i spotted this eye chart inspired love chart pouch on one pretty thing the other day. turns out the love chart is a free download from inkbloom. just sign up for their mailing list and they'll send it your way. perfect for a valentines day project. i'm sure you crafty ladies could think of something to do with the chart.
p.s. wow! thanks for your sweet comments on yesterdays post. i'm glad you liked the pillows! : )

a bit of sewing
hey ya'll! did you have a great weekend? mine was good but went by too quickly. i was able to work on a sewing project though! i've missed my sewing machine.
if you've been reading for a while you might remember the inspiration boards that i made for my little Olivia's room and this pillow from the second board.
i've liked this pillow ever since i spotted it at Pier 1 and when i saw that Caroline used it in her daughter's adorable nursury i liked it even better. however, on a stop to Cost Plus World Market the other day i came across these cloth napkins which are pretty similar in color to the original pillow so i picked one up. i used some green ikea fabric i had for the back of the bigger pillow. for the bird pillow, i folded a placemat from Pier 1 in half and stitched it closed. with a little bit of the cloth napkin left over i made some little pillows for O's chairs. so... for a total of $10 bucks and four pillows i'm happy with the result.

happy friday!
it's the weekend. hooray! we don't have much on the docket this weekend except for a birthday dinner, lots of homework, and hopefully some sunshine. have any fun plans? do tell.
on a fashion-y note... i'm loving these looks from Ann Taylor LOFT.

interior tuesday
i've come across designer Sarah Richardson on a couple blogs recently and i love her work. her portfolio is full of gorgeous rooms that pretty much epitomize my style. how beautiful is this suite that she designed for the Park Hyatt Hotel? i want to stay there!

a bit of randomness
first, i want to say thank you for your sweet birthday wishes. i also really enjoyed hearing from those who shared what makes them happy. i've been trying to accentuate the postive in my daily life and it helped for me to make a list of what makes me happy. i'd suggest trying it!
secondly, i recieved an email stating that today and tomorrow citizen blues will be listing all their designer denim for $65.00 or less. that's a pretty darn good deal for jeans such as 7 for all Mankind, etc. i'd suggest checking it out to see what they are offering.
thirdly, i hope you have a wonderful Monday (and week) and i'll be back tomorrow with some new loveliness.
