  1. Ooo, fun! I went to New Orleans back in 2006 to help with Katrina stuff. We didn't get to see a whole lot, but we did go to the French Quarter. There are lots of fun shops and amazing restaurants around. If you have a chance make sure to see some Jazz concerts. That's probably pretty basic stuff, but that's all I got. Make sure to post pics!

  3. This is what Shane says.... Bourbon Street smells like beer, throw up, horse poo and urine. So go look at it, but don't stay long. And he said to go get a Beignet at Cafe du Monde and go get some good cajun food (but he doesn't know any good places). Hope that helps... especially the Bourbon Street part!

  4. How fun! Too bad you guys weren't there a month ago, Mardi Gras is insane! The food down there is a must! Southern cajun food is unbelievable. Burbon St. is kinda gross like Holly was saying, but definitely hit up the rest of the french quarter. If you go anytime in the summer the humidity along with the heat will probably just about kill you, ok maybe that's an exaggeration, but the humidity can be pretty intense. Just enjoy the culture and the people :)

  5. we had a great time in new orleans with our three kids last summer. you can see my post about it here. stayed at Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter. I think if we go back, we might try a night in the Garden District, too. have fun!
