what kind of qualities do you crave for your home?

clean + calming
i've posted all white interiors before but i just can't seem to get over them. there is something clean, orderly, and calming about them and those are all qualities i crave for my home. this home of Style at Home design editor Ann Marie Favot is one of my current favorites.

I love the white, it just seems like it won't stay that way. That's why I like it in the kitchen... you can always wipe everything down. I don't think I would do it in a bedroom or living room. They do look nice and clean though!
Comfort, function, and order/tidiness. I really think a clean, clutter free home creates such a peaceful atmosphere. Somewhere I want to be. And somewhere I want my kids to want to be.
Love the white!! Just thinking it's not practical until I don't have little sticky toddler fingers touching everything. Maybe someday. =)
I agree.. I love all white! It would be so hard for me to keep them clean though.. I want my home to be comfortable. I don't like going to a home where it feels like you can't sit or touch anything! I want people to just plop down on the couch and feel at home.

I also like the whiteness--but like the others, it would NOT stay clean, especially with a husband and dog (ha!). I really want our house to be comfortable and home-y, somewhere that's stylish, but not at the expense of comfort, if that makes sense. I want it to be full of my favorite things... I'm getting there!
I agree with you all completely. White isn't very practical. I think I like the idea of it more than anything. Maybe when my husband and I are empty nesters than I can have my white home. :)
