wood you?

Never in a million years would I have thought to put wood up on my walls. If you'd asked me a while ago what I thought of wood on walls I would've cringed and thought of 1970s wood paneling. These examples, however, are not even remotely close to 70s paneling but are much more visually interesting and shall we say green.

Erin of A Breath of Fresh Erin used salvaged wood in her study with great results.

I swear, only Kevin and Layla would think of using old gymnasium flooring in their reading/guest room.

The Bowers used shipping pallets in baby Bower's nursery. Shipping pallets!

Do tell: What are your thoughts of putting wood up on your wall. Is there a right room for this? Is this something you'd ever do?

I would definitely add wood to a wall in the right situation. The Lettered Cottage room adds such dimension and interest, the room would not be as dynamic without it.

Cute Heather,
First off, that room of Layla's is the ticket! I think it looks best in smaller rooms. Second of all, I totally know what you mean about the blog/family thing. I had to re evaluate as well, its time consuming. I think people want good content and they'll be happy when we have that to post. I will for sure keep reading:)

Go look and watch this video. This guy has the most amazing, interesting house at the end of the video. His wall made out of old recycled mill beams he split is by far the most amazing idea. I told Ryan we will have a wall like that one day!

absolutely love this idea and look. I would totally be up for this idea if I ever got a house. Do you think it would effect the resale value at all?

@ Summer: That wall is really cool. I hope you get your wall like that one day! Thanks for sharing.

@ Vivien/TEL: I honestly don't know if it would effect resale value but I'd venture to say yes as it seems to be such a personal feature and many buyers would be put off by it.
