country kitchen
I'm a fan of Ina Garten so it's only natural that I love the country kitchen that she designed for House Beautiful's kitchen of the year in 2009. I know I've shared white kitchens before and they aren't for everyone but I am still enamored by them. One of the reasons this kitchen appeals to me is the open ceiling with the exposed rafters and beams. It is so light and airy. Definitely a kitchen that wouldn't be hard to spend time cooking and eating in.

Beautiful kitchen. You're right I think the largest appeal to this kitchen is the light, airy feel and the tall ceiling with the open rafters. I could definitely spend a few hours in there cooking :).

Beautiful kitchen, but I'm not a fan of Ina....Her food looks great, her voice gets on my nerves! I'm a Giada girl. :)
I love her kitchen too. For me it is the loooong island and stools.
I have no idea who the designer is that you mentioned so I will Google her later ;) Google rocks. Buuut I DO love the white kitchen! My dream kitchen is all white and very French Country!
I'm always thinking in my mind when I buy a house "dark wood cabinets, dark wood!", but when I see amazing kitchens like this, I'm willing to try white and white is so much brighter anyway!

so pretty! I love that it's so bright and open. I'm still enamored with white kitchens too. I even have one, but dream of one much larger and open to the living/dining area!

i agree the white rafters totally make that kitchen love it.
that is BEAUTIFUL! i am also a sucker for a white kitchen, which is about the farthest thing from the kitchen i currently have... ho hum
