zip it

So I recently purchased one of Tori's super cute chevron zipper bags. It's cheerful. It makes me happy. It makes my makeup happy (okay, probably not but I'd like to think it does).

I dunno for sure, but a super cute printed zipper bag might make you (or your makeup) happy. :)

Have a great 4th of July weekend my friends!

shop talk : lovely nest

I am having a major love-fest moment for yarn wreaths. Enter Lovely Nest, a shop which features some very lovely wreaths indeed. The styles are perfect for holidays and days in between. My favorite is the green wreath pictured below. Wouldn't the red flower napkin rings be sweet for a Valentines Day dinner party?

Amy is being very generous and is offering a 20% discount to olive & a readers on Lovely Nest products. Use OLIVEANDA20 as the coupon code at checkout.

Also check out Amy's blog Shutterly Lovely where she shares her adventures of decorating her home and some fun DIY's along the way. I am in love with her most recent project and wish I had the space in my own home to make and use one.

It's my kind of Halloween decoration.

Do you go all out with Halloween decorations or do you keep it low key and more autumnal?

We've still got a good couple of months left in 2010 but that doesn't mean I can't be on the lookout for a pretty 2011 calendar. I'm loving this sweet floral fabric calendar designed by Lisa Rupp.

shop talk : postscripted designs

I've known about Malerie's shop, postscripted for quite some time but have been a bit stingy in sharing it. I'm sorry about that, such pretty things need to be shared! Here are just a few of the gorgeous handmade metal and gemstone pieces that are currently in her shop.

*I own the above and LOVE!

make do and mend

just got back from a walk with my little one and now i've got to get a jump on my never ending to-do list.  one of the items on my list is an ever-growing pile of sewing/mending. hopefully i'll be able to finish the pile and try my hand at Tania's skirt tutorial.

speaking of sewing, i've seen these make do and mend posters around the web and think they are adorable.

happy easter

Thanks to Ashley, Sharon Montrose is now on my radar. I came across her etsy shop and found the most adorable photos of animals. I'm thinking I'd like to order this print for my little one because her nickname is Goose.

Anyway...I thought these characters were particularly fitting for this Easter weekend. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
