ribbon wreath

i know i said the other day i'm not big into halloween decorations but this black ribbon wreath is in a whole category of it's own. this wreath is gorgeous! you don't usually associate gorgeousness with halloween but i love that it adds a bit of glamour to the holiday. this would be pretty for other holdiays also by using another colored ribbon.  find the easy tutorial here.

autumn decor

truth be told, i'm not the biggest halloween fan and because of that it has translated into how i decorate for the fall season. i like things that can go the extra mile and work for both the halloween and thanksgiving holidays.

so do you decorate for halloween specifically or fall generally?

wrap it up : a & g photography

Christmas is two months away and will be here before we know it. to help with procrastination or maybe inspiration, i will be featuring some lovely goodies from budget friendly shops every Monday until Christmas.

a & g photography is the pretty photo shop of Ashley Gammill . Ashley recieved a camera as a graduation present from high school and has been passionate about being behind the lens ever since.  she opened up her shop to sell affordable photos and to share her love of photography.

Ashley's photos would be a thoughtful, one of a kind present for anyone on your list. here are just a few of the photographs that i am loving from her shop.

i heart fall

went on a walk up the canyon the other day. oh the colors were gorgeous and it was so nice out. i just wish fall would last longer.

i'm sad to hear that they are threatening snow this coming week.

shabby apple

i am in love with dresses from shabby apple. so gorgeous.

yes please

think pink

i'm glad to know that i'm not alone in my love of catalogs. if you come across a good one, let me know!

so i'm a bit late as the month is close to over but as i'm sure you are aware, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  the girls over at Color Me Inspired created this beautiful printable to inspire those who are either fighting this hard battle or for anyone who needs a reminder to choose hope. this hits home for me as my grandmother was a breast cancer surviver. i am grateful for her hope, courage and strength. head over to Color Me Inspired to download the poster and for some beautiful party/ event inspiration.

serena & lily

i will admit it. i'm one of those people who order catalogs {j.crew, pottery barn, ballard design, etc.} just to check out the styling {and potential diy's}. is anyone else like this?

serena & lily catalogs have drool-worthy bedding and i find the styling to be pretty. maybe someday i will be able to afford some of their bedding but until then i will admire from afar.

wrap it up : pink loves brown

Christmas is still a bit away but it will be here before we know it. to help with procrastination or maybe inspiration, i will be featuring some lovely goodies from budget friendly shops every Monday until Christmas.

today is Pink Loves Brown, the adorable shop of Making it Lovely blogger Nicole Balch. here are a couple of the cute, girly goods that i wouldn't mind getting for Christmas.

a great alternative to boring storage boxes. they come in a bunch of colorways. i'd love to get these for my future craft room.

zig zag & polka dot magnets

perhaps a polite hint to a friend to take down the local pizza joints free magnets and help chic-ify her refridgerator. {feeling crafty? diy using some cute scrapbook papers and this tutorial}

geek chic? these cards are awesome. i have a friend who is close to graduating pharmacy school and i'd love to get these for her.

everyone likes to check themselves out right? why not give them something cute to help with that. these pocket mirrors are easy on the pocket book and come in a bunch of cute colors and designs.

see anything you want to add to your Christmas wishlist? check out more lovely goods at Pink Loves Brown.

vintage travel

i love the styling of these vintage travel posters.
they are getting me excited for ski season!

well, i'm off! headed to Sun Valley until Friday.
going to visit my brother and his cute family!
i hope you are having a great week!

oh, and tell me! where would you like to be right now?

morning bake session

so i'm not much of a baker.
it's not that i don't like to bake. i do!
it's just something that i don't make a lot of time for.
and when i do have the time I always wonder why i don't do it more often.

i decided to make up some little cookie bags to deliver to friends.
it's better that they eat them, my waist doesn't need them.

i created little bag toppers using the note card part of this stationary set from creature comforts.
if you don't read creature comforts you might want to think about adding it to your reader. she has great taste and highlights beautiful things.

have a favorite thing to bake?

when it comes to jewelry i'm more of an earrings only kind of girl but these jewels might have me changing my mind.

pivot

i caught this friends episode on tv last night.
i laughed. really hard. it felt good.

anything making you laugh lately?

two heads are better than one

i finally got my hands on martha stewart's encyclopedia of crafts with the intention of making at least one thing out of the book. while there were many pretty things to make, most required a trip to the craft store and i was too impatient.

i landed on the letter p -- paper cutting and punching, with instructions on silhouettes. they aren't really hard to make and i had all the supplies. i ended up doing silhouettes of my little one to hang on her wall. i think they turned out kind of cute. she doesn't have a lot of hair and has an adorable double chin (only adorable on a 9 month old) so this rendition of her makes me laugh.

glam nursery

how gorgeous is the nursery?
i adore the muted color scheme with pops of orange and yellow.
i need that lamp and table!

love how the wallflowers are escaping the frame. too cute!

i'll be honest, right now we are in a cramped one bedroom apt. and i can't wait till my little one has her own room. oh the ideas and projects i want to do. until then i'll just keep adding to my idea folder. i found this nursury via this sweet flickr group pool called "go to your room" kids rooms at home. a great place not only for nursery inspiration but actually any room.

hello! hope you had a great weekend!

i was down and out with a weird cold/flu this weekend and all i wanted to do was stay in bed, eat lots of soup, and be lazy. unfortunately that doesn't really happen when you have a busy 9 month old but i tried.

have a wonderful monday!
